Founder Spirit Competition

Review: 60 founders submitted their business plans to the Gründergeist Competition 2019 - and showed how great the diversity of new business ideas is in the region. On 18 January 2019, five finalists competed for victory and a total of 18,000 euros in prize money at the award ceremony of the competition, which was held for the first time, at the Ballenlager in Greven. A ten-member jury of experts had already evaluated the business plans in advance. The final decision, however, was made by the live pitches of the five finalists on the evening, one fifth of which was included in the overall ranking. In five minutes, the founders presented their projects in the best possible way and finally answered questions from the jury and the audience for another five minutes.

There will be the next Gründergeist competition soon!

The Founder's Spirit Competition

The successful competition is now being continued in the Gründergeist #Youngstarts project. The next Gründergeist competition will take place soon and will be expanded to include the category "School".

Who can participate?

  • Founders and founder teams who have founded a company in Münsterland, have taken over a company or are still in the planning phase.
  • Pupils from the tenth grade upwards

The submitted business plan and the presentation of the business idea at the competition will be evaluated - the company's success after the foundation/takeover will not be evaluated.

Further information on participation:

  • The competition is independent of industry.
  • Participation is independent of age and qualification.
  • Participation in other competitions is not permitted.

How does the competition work?

All participants receive written feedback on their submitted business plan after the competition.

  • The five best business plans from each category will reach the finals and present their business idea at the award ceremony in the form of a pitch.
  • The ten finalists and five pupil-finalist teams also win a "pitch training" in which they are prepared for the presentation at the award event.
  • The decision on the placement is based 80 percent on the evaluation of the business plan and 20 percent on the presentation at the award event.
