A round of succession: Thementalk on business succession

A round of succession: That's the name of the Gründergeist #Youngstarts Münsterland topic talk.

Personal insights, tips and background information, stories from the sewing box: All this is provided by a new format of the joint project Gründergeist #Youngstarts Münsterland on the topic of business succession. Under the title "A Round of Succession - The Thementalk for Business Succession", the project invites exciting personalities to tell you more about self-employment and taking over an existing business.

Thementalk: Between tradition and modernity

The fourth Thementalk took place on 10 February 2022 on the topic "Between tradition and modernity". The discussion was streamed live from the Döpik company in Stadtlohn.

Present were:

  • Host Tobias Picker: Managing Director/CEO of Döpik Energietechnik GmbH. After several external positions, he followed in his father's footsteps in 2010 and has been the sole managing director since then.
  • Lukas Kremer: Master baker at Bäckerei Kremer & Sohn. In 2013, he returned to his parents' business, first as production manager, and now a new chapter is about to begin: Independence as well as taking over the business.
  • Isa-Marie Damschke: She has been the managing director of the family-run company Fragemanns Reisekutsche since 2019. This means that the company is now being run by the third generation.
  • Hermann and Lukas Knemeyer: Hermann took over the Knemeyer company in Ostbevern from his uncle. Since 2015, his son Lukas has been at his side, first as a salaried master craftsman, then as co-managing director since 2019. So they are experts when it comes to a family-internal company succession.

Thementalk: Bottom up - Growing into the leadership role

The third Thementalk took place on 28 October 2021 on the topic of "Bottom up - Growing into the leadership role". The discussion was streamed live from SuperBioMarkt headquarters in Münster.

Present were:

  • Host Luca Radau: Head of Corporate Development as well as prospective successor of SuperBioMarkt AG, responsible for the topic of sustainability management as well as various expansion projects since the beginning of 2021.
  • Daniel Hagemeyer, owner of the Hagemeyer joinery in Sassenberg: since the beginning of 2020, the 29-year-old has been the successor in the business of his former boss
  • Judith Deitert, Managing Director and family successor of PFREUNDT GmbH: The 33-year-old has been on the management board together with her brother and father since July 2021
  • Stefanie Schäfer, Business Coach: She is the expert in the group and has more than 20 years of professional experience in medium-sized family businesses in various functions and accompanies succession processes of small and medium-sized enterprises

Thementalk: Communication during the takeover

The second Thementalk took place on 1 June 2021 on the topic of "Communication during the takeover". The discussion round was streamed live from the barrel warehouse of the Sasse distillery and took place in cooperation with the Münsterland Siegel.

Present were:

  • Host Rüdiger Sasse: He was just 21 years old when he "joined" his parents' distillery. Since 1990, he has been shaping the over 300-year-old family business, which with its 40 employees is also a member of the Münsterland Seal.
  • Communications expert Monika Bone: In her view, there is no single piece of advice for (potential) successors, because every handover is different. Nevertheless, the right communication is decisive for the success of a business succession....
  • Successor Ralf Swetlik from Druckhaus Dülmen: He was managing director in a printing house for many years until he took the step into self-employment and took over an external printing house.
  • Patrick Lehr: A long-time employee, Lehr took over the company Motorrad Bögel in Ibbenbüren. from the company Motorrad Bögel in Ibbenbüren.

Thementalk: "The future is now - culture and digitalisation".

The first themed talk took place on 22 April 2021 on the topic "The future is now - culture and digitalisation".

Present were:

  • Thomas Gerwens from Gronau-Epe, successor in the family business Gerwens Fachcenter GmbH: He has developed an app with which his business customers can order products quickly and easily.
  • André Vogt from Vogt Fensterbau GmbH: Vogt is currently joining the family business in Rosendahl on a permanent basis and is moving back to his old home from Münster to do so.
  • Elena Siebelt from Hotel Residenz in Bocholt: She is also the founder of her own motel, where control via an app plays a central role.
  • Alexander Hüsers from Innomago GmbH, who is well versed in innovation management and designs and implements digitalisation processes.
