Successful balance of the Münsterland Festival part 10: Musical journey inspires guests throughout Münsterland

Numerous sold-out concerts and excursions, impressive artists, enthusiastic guests: the tenth edition of the Münsterland Festival organised by Münsterland e.V. is over and has left a lasting impression in the region and beyond. The biennial series of events is made possible by a multitude of patrons and sponsors, first and foremost the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which has once again supported the festival with funds from the Regional Cultural Policy (RKP).

"The journey with Münsterland Festival part 10 was a very special one. We set out on a journey through the Münsterland region, bringing with us music and culture from no less than ten European partner countries for the first time," emphasises Christine Sörries, artistic director of the festival. "The feedback was overwhelming. Whether Georgian songs, Portuguese fado or Indian music from Iceland: our guests enjoyed the cultural diversity and were also open to musical experiments. In this way, we succeeded in addressing very different target groups and making the festival even better known."

For the anniversary edition, the festival organisers invited to a total of 37 concerts, eight exhibitions, five excursions, an art tour, a graphics project and a themed afternoon in more than 30 towns and communities in the region. The focus was on such special cultural sites as castles, palaces, museums and regional industrial enterprises. "The Münsterland Festival thus not only brought foreign guests closer to our region and THE GOOD LIFE in Münsterland," says Klaus Ehling, Chairman of Münsterland e.V. "The festival was also once again an occasion for the people of Münsterland to get to know the region even better and to immerse themselves in the cultivated attitude to life."

The number of guests here follows on from the great success of the previous edition. "Around 5,000 visitors came to our concerts alone," explains Lars Krolik, festival director at Münsterland e.V. The various excursions were particularly popular - from the RESET*Landpartien to the art tour and the bus excursion to the theme day "The British in Münsterland". "These special formats were all fully booked," emphasises the festival director. Numerous other guests came to the various exhibitions, some of which will still be on view in the coming weeks.

"Thanks to our ten different partner countries, the past five weeks saw exciting encounters and lasting impressions - for visitors and bands alike," Christine Sörries points out. "Because many of the artists were guests here for the first time and got to know Münsterland as a region full of cultural delights."
