Stories and tips from two business successors: Podcast releases new episodes

The joint project Gründergeist #Youngstarts Münsterland interviews the young entrepreneurs Jan-Florian Sichert (Lüdinghausen) and André Schulze Forsthövel (Münster).

Jan-Florian Sichert and André Schulze Forsthövel have one thing in common: they knew early on what they wanted to become. In Sichert's case it was the profession of stonemason, which was quickly decided, in Forsthövel's case it was the way of working - namely as an independent entrepreneur. In episodes six and seven of the podcast "How was it with you...? Company succession in Münsterland", they talk about their careers and their personal path to owning their own company in conversation with contributors to the joint project Gründergeist #Youngstarts Münsterland.

Jan-Florian Sichert is a craftsman through and through, "I could never sit still very well", he says and laughs. As a master stonemason and stone sculptor, he makes everything that can be made of stone, from gravestones to restoration. In episode six of the business succession podcast, he provides insights into his everyday work. Jan-Florian Sichert explains why stone is such a beautiful material, how the company succession in Lüdinghausen came about and how the Münster Chamber of Crafts supported him in taking over the business. He is interviewed by Lea Wilkens (TAFH Münster) and Nikolai Brinkmöller (opwoco Media).

The seventh podcast episode takes a different perspective: Because André Schulze Forsthövel did not come to business succession through his original profession, but rather through his desire to enjoy being self-employed. That's why he was in contact with the North Westphalia Chamber of Industry and Commerce early on and, through their mediation, finally took over the Brandschutz-Center Münster from the Brinck family in 2017. In an interview with Frank Sibbing (Münsterland e.V.) and Nikolai Brinkmöller (opwoco Media), the 40-year-old talks about what always excited him about self-employment, how he prepared for the succession and how his career progressed from electrical engineering to sales to managing director of the fire protection centre.

You can listen to this and all other podcast episodes at www.youngstarts-muensterland.com as well as on various well-known audio platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, Soundcloud, Apple Podcast and Google Podcast. Even more episodes are already being planned.

The joint project Gründergeist #Youngstarts Münsterland is behind the production of the podcast. "We are always surprised at how many different paths there are with regard to business succession," emphasises Frank Sibbing, head of the Gründergeist #Youngstarts Münsterland project at Münsterland e.V. "Some decide consciously and prepare for it for years, for others this option opens up more by chance." This is clear from the podcast episodes that have appeared so far.

The project Gründergeist #Youngstarts Münsterland strengthens the start-up intensity in Münsterland and opens up new start-up potential and target groups with its offers. More information is available at www.youngstarts-muensterland.com. It is funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Economics of North Rhine-Westphalia within the framework of the ERDF call "Regio.NRW". Münsterland e.V. is implementing it as lead partner together with the following partners: Wirtschaftsförderung Kreis Coesfeld GmbH (wfc), Wirtschaftsförderung im Kreis Warendorf (gfw), Technologieförderung Münster GmbH, TAFH Münster GmbH, Wirtschaftsförderungs- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft Steinfurt mbH (WESt) and Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft für den Kreis Borken mbH (WFG).
