Landwege: rambles from castle to castle

First you visit Nordkirchen Castle - the Westphalian Versailles. A special attraction is the reconstructed Venus Island. Garden art, many secluded spots and numerous avenues attract visitors to the baroque garden. Afterwards, explore - on foot or by leeze - the nature reserves around Nordkirchen Castle. While walking, hiking or cycling, information boards, acoustic tours and experience and discovery stations explain the protected habitats. Resting islands offer fantastic views. You will reach Westerwinkel Castle and, if you wish, the path will take you even further towards Werne, where you can stroll through the old town at your leisure. Afterwards you make your way back to Nordkirchen and can, for example, end the evening in a cosy atmosphere at a castle concert in the Oranienburg.

After breakfast, you will stroll through the attractive centre of Nordkirchen, which invites you to linger with its lively gastronomy. On a guided tour of the town you can follow in the footsteps of J.C. Schlaun and discover some of the sights. Afterwards, take some time to explore the surroundings of Nordkirchen. Lovers of historical buildings will be drawn to Vischering Castle in Lüdinghausen or the beautiful Cappenberg Castle near Selm. An excursion to the Steverauen in Olfen is highly recommended.
