Arrival Milte-Warendorf

Day Experience the district of Warendorf and the horse capital of Warendorf up close. The starting point is the district of Milte, approx. 6 km from Warendorf.
Hof Schräer, centrally located in the centre of Warendorf-Milte, offers riders and horses a place to stay in a quiet and cosy atmosphere - under one roof. The 80m² holiday flat has a bed-sit room (2 French beds) with TV and sitting area, bedroom (single room), kitchen with dining area, bathroom with shower, WC and washing machine. In addition, there is a seating and barbecue area by the stable. The horses are also well accommodated in the farm's own boxes or in the paddock. After arrival, a day's round trip of 20 km awaits you in the "city triangle" between Warendorf-Milte, Ostbevern and Telgte. In the evening there is the possibility to barbecue on site or to have dinner in the village.

After a tasty farmer's breakfast with farm eggs from happy chickens, you set off in the direction of Warendorf. Halfway along the route, you can stop for lunch in Sassenberg at the Silberfuchs or Eichenhof and fortify yourself and the horses. Once you have arrived in Warendorf, the horses will be stabled with Mrs. Büscher. The Ringhotel Mersch is about 500m away. Here you will make yourself comfortable for two nights in single rooms. In the evening, the culinary offerings of the old town of Warendorf await you with a wide variety of specialities.

The horse capital

In the morning (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) you start with a guided tour of the NRW State Stud and the old town of Warendorf. The foundation stone for today's City of Horses was laid in 1826 by Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III when he founded the North Rhine-Westphalian State Stud in Warendorf. In the course of time, the orientation of breeding changed from working to sport horses, but its important role for breeding and equestrianism never changed. The German Equestrian Federation (FN), the federal association for equestrian sport and horse breeding, also has its headquarters in Warendorf, right next to the German Olympic Committee for Equestrianism (DOKR). Warendorf is thus the control centre for top equestrian sport, and it is always worth taking a look behind the scenes. In the afternoon, east of Warendorf, our day tip "Emsauenschleifen" (Ems meadow loops) takes you along beautiful grass and sand paths directly along the Ems and through the forest. The route is 20 km long from the Josephshof. If you like, you can also ride through two shallow fords (the spots can also be bypassed) In the evening, the culinary offerings of the old town await you again.
