The starting point of the circular tour is the city centre of Coesfeld, near the castle park and the market square. You start your tour in a north-easterly direction and cycle past the city park and the Fürstenwiese. The route first takes you in the direction of Billerbeck, riding along the Berkel, through the Berkelaue nature reserve and further upstream. Situated directly on the Berkel is the Kolvenburg in Billerbeck, a 15th-century manor house, and the Richtof, a prince-bishop's official residence also dating from the 15th century.
You leave Billerbeck in the direction of the Baumberge and already see the first elevations of the landscape as you leave the town. There you will also find the Berkel spring, a beautiful place where you should definitely take a break and enjoy nature. You will then drive through a landscape that is incomparable in Münsterland. In the distance you will already see the Longinus Tower on the Westerberg, the highest elevation in the Baumberge. It offers a unique panoramic view of the surrounding area. The last section of the circular tour is characterised by the picturesque and unspoilt landscape that you will experience along the route. Perhaps the most beautiful insider tip in Münsterland is the Stevertal valley with its mills and granaries and the Steverquelle spring. The Nottulner Berg nature reserve and the Hanloer Mark are also special highlights along the route.
This route is particularly suitable for e-bike riders because of the hilly landscape combined with the route length. There are also plenty of e-bike charging stations along the route.
