The Hense Art Gallery

At Kunsthalle Hense in Gescher you will find a very special private collection of contemporary art. The approximately 500 works offer a unique view of the local art scene. Frank Hense's art collection has existed for over 35 years and mainly includes exhibits by national artists who are at the beginning of their careers. But works by well-known and established artists can also be admired at Kunsthalle Hense. Many of the artists refuse aesthetic and social expectations in equal measure, which is impressively reflected in the exhibits. The works inspire with artistic courage, independence and show the unconventional ideas in the form of paintings, sculptures, graphics, photo, video and projection works. In the Kunsthalle Hense, individual or group exhibitions of the collection or thematic exhibitions are shown to the public in changing presentations.
