The listed castle of Senden is unique in the Münsterland region; with its various building sections, it represents 500 years of architectural history. It is a three-winged complex surrounded by a double moat. Of particular importance is the three-tiered gable of the manor house from the second half of the 15th century. As one of the oldest Renaissance works of this gable form, it is exemplary for Westphalia. Overall, the development of manor houses since the 18th century can be traced in the complex. The castle is also surrounded by a listed landscape park with old trees.
Since 2015, the sponsoring association Schloss Senden e. V. has been reviving the moated castle complex as an educational and cultural venue with a strong identity. As a special feature, visitors can participate in the continuous progress of the renovation.
