Horse riding in the Baumberge

Between hills and forests

On the riding routes in the Baumberge, from Havixbeck via Nottuln, Billerbeck and Coesfeld to Rosendahl, several sights await you at once: Gerleve Monastery, which was raised to the status of an abbey in 1904, the stately Haus Stapel, where several spring creeks join to form the Münster Aa, and Hülshoff Castle, the birthplace of the famous poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff.

The plain of the western Münsterland reaches as far as Coesfeld and Rosendahl. A ride under the broad horizon is a real pleasure. The gentle landscape quickly makes you forget everyday life. The rest of the region is much hillier. Wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding landscape open up from the heights. Especially in late spring, the rape fields glow incomparably.
