Trio Levcatho

Accordion, guitar, double bass and three voices that fit together – Trio Levcatho is a family affair. Thorsten, Levin and Cajetan Stracke play acoustic jazz in the tradition of Django Reinhardt: danceable Gypsy swing with the drive of the 1930s, complemented by their own compositions and multi-voice vocal arrangements.

Levcatho takes well-known classics and interprets them in their own way – sometimes playful, sometimes melancholic, always with a great deal of handmade charm. Accordion and guitar play around each other, the bass lays down the walking groove, and when the three Stracke voices come together, it all evokes the cafés of the pre-war era – just with today's sound.

At „Trompetenbaum und Geigenfeige“, Trio Levcatho opens the series in the city of Münster on 21 June. The venue is the courtyard of the Zion Parish in Münster-Handorf – a place whose intimate atmosphere is made for three acoustic instruments and three voices.
