JIN JIM (PICNIC CONCERT)

JIN JIM combines the energy of rock with jazz, Latin and electronic sounds with elegant, almost floating ease. Complex rhythms meet bouncy melodies, improvised passages meet compact songwriting: explosive and fiery, they combine virtuosity with the joy of playing: fulminant basses, striking guitar riffs and airy flutes merge into a rousing sound. Catchy and dynamic, their music is sometimes reminiscent of Jethro Tull - the perfect accompaniment for a sunny Sunday afternoon in the open air.
JIN JIM is one of the most exciting formations in contemporary jazz. Founded in 2013, the band inspires with its unique blend of precision, wildness and intuition. Peruvian flautist Daniel Manrique-Smith shapes the sound with his virtuoso, expressive playing and wide stylistic range. Johann May lends structure and energy to the music on the guitar with striking riffs and subtle timbres. On bass, Ben Tai Trawinski provides the foundation with powerful groove and melodic depth, while Nico Stallmann on drums shapes the rhythmic complexity of the band with dynamic, finely nuanced playing. Together they create powerful and poetic soundscapes.
With their latest album "New Choices" (2023), they are breaking new ground: handmade sound, pulsating, rousing and full of joy - full of energy and yet completely in the spirit of jazz.
