Vocal jazz for snapping, clapping and drifting away
„It's not just a jazzy romance“ – that is how Jazzfalia introduces itself. The quintet from Drensteinfurt in Westphalia has been playing passionate vocal jazz for years, with two strong voices, trumpet and a warm rhythm section of guitar, double bass and drums.
The repertoire features the great classics with a touch of nostalgia: Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Antonio Carlos Jobim and the Gershwin brothers. Plus jazzy pop arrangements of Caro Emerald, Sade, Annie Lennox and Cyndi Lauper – and songs by Michael Bublé, Norah Jones and Van Morrison as a bridge between the worlds.
At „Trompetenbaum und Geigenfeige“, Jazzfalia will perform on 19 July in the Old Garden of the State Music Academy in Heek. A Sunday afternoon for snapping fingers, clapping and drifting away – with a programme for jazz connoisseurs and first-time jazz listeners alike.
