Matt Walsh Acoustic Quartett
Rock classics with the stroke of a bow
Bohemian Rhapsody on four strings. Smoke on the Water played with the bow. Stairway to Heaven the way you've never heard it. The Pop String Quartet from Detmold has been proving for years that the greatest hits of rock and pop history can sound just as moving with two violins, viola and cello as with an amplifier and a wall of guitars.
Four professional musicians, four instruments, one ambition: to play each arrangement so that the original remains recognisable while the strings still set the tone. From the gentle „Can You Feel the Love Tonight“ to the rocking „I Feel Good“, the repertoire spans an entire concert without a break – but with plenty of aha-moments.
At „Trompetenbaum und Geigenfeige“, the quartet will perform on 30 August in the garden of the St. Elisabeth Foundation in Nottuln – a place where generations come together and the pop classics find an audience that knows them all.
