Business development agency for the district of Borken mbH

The Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft für den Kreis Borken mbH (WFG) pursues the goal of improving the economic situation in the district of Borken and having a positive effect on the regional labour market situation. Initially founded in 1968 for the district of Ahaus, the WFG has been responsible for the entire district of Borken since the municipal territorial reform in 1975. The shareholders of the WFG are the district of Borken and the cities and municipalities in the district. The managing director is Dr. Heiner Kleinschneider.

The WFG aims to offer companies in the local economy the best possible environment and assists companies and start-ups with a wide range of challenges. It provides information, advice and support free of charge and personally. In this way, the social and economic structure in the district of Borken is to be improved, the economic strength of the towns and communities of the district of Borken is to be strengthened and jobs are to be secured or newly created.

In concrete terms, the WFG supports the establishment and relocation of companies, it safeguards and develops existing businesses, it strengthens innovation in the district of Borken, supports the recruitment of skilled workers and digitisation, and safeguards and develops the business-related infrastructure in the region. The WFG works together with all economic actors in a network-oriented manner.

In addition, the WFG is the publisher of the regional business magazine "Wirtschaft aktuell".
