Münsterland Experience Region

The Münsterland offers a colourful picnic basket full of experiences between town and country - for locals and guests alike.

The eventful history of the Münsterland has left behind a veritable treasure trove of palaces, castles and manor houses. In addition to imposing buildings, smaller but marvellous moated castles and fortresses will surprise you time and again and take you back in time. The gardens and parks awaken from their hibernation in spring at the latest. Formal grounds alternate with wild and romantic gardens. The well-tended green spaces and colourful seas of flowers are surrounded by magnificent natural areas that you might not expect to find in Münsterland. Excursions into nature can often be perfectly combined with a picnic. You can find regional and fresh ingredients for your outdoor meal in the many farm shops.

The Münsterland offers an extraordinary cultural experience in its special places and spaces. Small, lovingly run museums provide an insight into the way of life and traditions and are often just a few metres away from first-class exhibitions and theatres. The motto is often "join in", which of course applies in particular to the leisure parks and zoos in Münsterland.
