"Münsterland Festival meets BurgJazz": advance ticket sales start
Three days full of live music at one of the most beautiful moated castles in Westphalia: from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 June 2026, the Münsterland Festival and the BurgJazz series invite you to a summer festival at Burg Vischering in Lüdinghausen for the second time. Tickets are available now at www.muensterland-festival.com.
Eight concerts, international line-ups and stylistic diversity: "Münsterland Festival meets BurgJazz", an event organised by Münsterland e.V. and the district of Coesfeld, brings jazz in all its facets to the stage of Burg Vischering. Artistic director Christine Sörries, co-curator Stephanie Pausch and the entire festival team invite you to a programme that is characterised by the diverse cultural backgrounds of the musicians and creates musical connections across borders.
Two extraordinary voices meet at the start of the festival: Ukrainian singer and composer GANNA and Peruvian musician Laura Robles combine jazz, improvisation and folklore to create an intense dialogue between past and future. Afterwards, the trio of Italian accordionist Luciano Biondini, Austrian sitar player Klaus Falschlunger and Amsterdam-based tabla master Niti Ranjan Biswas will delight audiences with their captivating dynamism.
On Saturday, the Italian-Nigerian pianist and singer Afra Kane and her band will unfold an emotionally profound mixture of soul and jazz, while Dutch trumpeter Eric Vloeimans will create a colourful, atmospheric sound universe full of poetic moments with his project "Pico Bello Extended".
Sunday is characterised by two popular regional events: the Münsterland Picnic Days and the Castles and Palaces Day. A children's concert by the seven-piece Cologne band GORILLA CLUB for the whole family and a picnic concert with the four musicians of the band JIN JIM will enrich the programme. Both concerts are free of charge and take place outside.
A special musical experience follows in the evening: the internationally acclaimed Brazilian pianist Amaro Freitas combines powerful virtuosity with a unique playing technique, demonstrating how deeply rooted he is in the Afro-Brazilian tradition of his homeland. The crowning finale is the concert by Swedish pianist and drummer Emil Brandqvist, who presents modern piano jazz full of lyrical intensity and haunting melodies with his trio.
