Events in Olfen

This year's first Summer Special will be organised by the parish of St. Vitus. The area between the church, rectory and Haus Katharina is transformed into a cosy beer garden. Many groups from St Vitus will be taking part: the ecumenical asylum working group, the support associations of both daycare centres, the Kolping family, altar servers, scouts and the town recreation group.

The event starts at 6.00 pm with an opening service on the stage. Cool drinks and delicious food will be available for young and old.

The trio sings German and interprets well-known songs by Jan Delay, Peter Fox, Silbermond, Andreas Bourani, Udo Lindenberg, the Doctors and Sarah Connor, among others - acoustically and in their very own way.

The dream setting at Füchtelner Mühle will once again be the venue for this year's Young Summer Special. Visitors can dance, party and enjoy the summer directly on the river beach of the Steverumflut. The handball players from SuS Olfen e. V. will provide delicious food and plenty of cool drinks that evening. DEEJP: DEEJP from Olfen has travelled the world in recent years. At DJ gigs at the biggest festivals such as Parookaville in Weeze or Electrisize in Erkelenz or at club events throughout NRW, he has already heated up the partying crowd with his beats. He has also played under the sun in the Maldives, on Mallorca and on the mountain peaks of Austria. But his home town is in no way inferior. All the more reason for him to look forward to playing the Summer Special again this year at his favourite location, the Füchtelner Mühle.

"Session Possible" delights on 8 August at the Olfen natural pool

When the natural pool in Olfen is transformed into an atmospheric open-air stage with magical lights and music, it's time for another real summer highlight: "Session Possible" with Wolf Codera has been captivating over a thousand visitors every year since 2012. This year, guests can once again look forward to an unforgettable concert evening.

What makes "Session Possible" so special? The musical quality meets a unique concept: every year, saxophonist and session initiator Wolf Codera puts together a completely new band of top international musicians for just this one evening. What happens on stage is pure joy of playing. Well-known songs are given a new soul and spontaneous improvisations provide goosebump moments.

With his format, the renowned studio musician Codera has created a creative platform for the "stars of the second row", who shine here with passion and skill without the pressure of production. On 8 August, the Naturbad will once again be the backdrop for a top-class musical summer evening.

The artists for the 2026 session have not yet been finalised.

Summer Specials - Part 4 City of Olfen & Volunteer Fire Brigade Olfen The Olfen Volunteer Fire Brigade is organising the fourth event of the Olfen Summer Specials. The festival meadow behind the town hall is transformed into a small, cosy event area. With live music, the firefighters will be offering visitors cool drinks, delicious cocktails, wine and a wide range of food and drink. Silly Souls of Music This project by Acki Löbbecke brings together professional musicians who know each other from the music scene but have never played together as a band in this constellation. The dynamic and free interaction of the musicians creates a phenomenal, unique, explosive and emotional musical experience for everyone who feels the beat. With them: Faiz Mangat (Vocals, Drums), Andreas Recktenwald (Keyboards), Thomas Dernier Klein (Sologuitars) and Acki Löbbecke (Vocals, A-Guitars). For the first time, the Sülsen Shooting Club of 1727 is organising an evening of Summer Specials and is creating a very special atmosphere right by the Lippe with delicious food, cool drinks and lots of passion. For this occasion, an atmospheric beer garden is being created in the Sülsen farming community, at the former Hotel Restaurant Rauschenburg, just for this evening. The natural surroundings and summery ambience provide the perfect setting to enjoy, linger and switch off.

Gap (Dustin Lukat) is a live artist from the Ruhrpott with a focus on German-language pop and rap elements, complemented by selected English covers. He has been performing on stages since 2017 - from weddings to festivals - and impresses with his strong presence, distinctive voice and audience appeal. 2021 he reached the blind auditions at The Voice of Germany. . In 2025, he made it to the team fights in Team Shirin David and became an audience favourite. He will be a guest at the Summer Specials for the first time and promises a unique evening full of emotion and energy.

The idyllically situated club grounds of the OG-Olfen shepherd dog club provide the atmospheric setting for the last event of the Olfen Summer Specials. The club creates a special ambience with lovely illuminations. Visitors are invited to enjoy the special atmosphere and round off the event series in a relaxed mood with delicious barbecue food, a cocktail bar and other drinks.

The Two & Feeling Alright

Two acts will take to the stage for the finale of the Summer Specials. The acoustic unplugged duo Die Zwei will delight audiences with charismatic vocals, finely tuned guitar playing and handmade covers from several decades of music history. Feeling Alright then provide a real musical treat with passionate live music, polyphonic vocals and creative acoustic versions. Classics from the 70s and 80s meet fresh interpretations. A varied summer evening full of atmosphere and musical highlights.
