With every lap, you’ll be helping the German Children’s Hospice Association (Deutscher Kinderhospizverein e.V.) and Lebenshilfe Borken und Umgebung e.V. Everyone can take part – whether you’re jogging, walking, in a wheelchair or using a walking frame.

In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn how targeted ‘prompting’ delivers better resultswith ChatGPT and similar tools.

On 20 September, the Reken Riding and Driving Club cordially invites you to a family festival for young and old. Look forward to a varied day in a convivial atmosphere, where the focus is on shared experiences and the joy of club life.

The festival offers the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the club, to socialise with each other and to spend a wonderful day on the club grounds. Whether members, friends of the association or interested visitors - everyone is welcome to enjoy a few carefree hours together.

The family festival offers a varied supporting programme and a good atmosphere.

In this information session, Ms Isik will discuss care aids and domestic support services in the context of home care.

Ms Isik will explain what support is available for people in need of care and their relatives, how to apply for these services, and which costs are covered by the care insurance fund. The aim is to provide a clear overview and offer practical advice for everyday life.

For all those who prefer to relax from everyday life in a group rather than alone, the municipality of Reken is once again offering guided after-work cycle tours between May and September. These take place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month and start at 6 pm. The tours cover around 25-30 kilometres on paved paths around Reken. The start is on 12/05/2026.

There are no costs and all you need to bring is your own bike, something to drink and suitable clothing. Registration is not necessary. Further information can be obtained from the Bürgerbüro (Tel. 02864 / 9440) or the Tourist-Info (Tel. 02864 / 944 035) in the town hall in Groß Reken. Participation is at your own risk.

Around 15,000 blood donations are needed in Germany every day. The six German Red Cross blood donation centres in Germany ensure a safe and secure supply of blood and blood products around the clock, 365 days a year.

Each blood donation is divided into up to 3 preparations and thus helps up to 3 people.

Blood donors are very special people, because by donating blood they are taking on social responsibility. Our very special thanks go to them - day after day.

Since 1989, a children's clothing market has been held twice a year in the Arche in Reken. In spring and autumn, over 300 customers take the opportunity to sell children's items of all kinds (clothes, prams, children's furniture, bicycles, toys, electronics, etc.).

40 volunteers sort up to 12,000 items over several days, which are then offered for sale on a Saturday from 8.00 am - 12.00 pm. You can find more information on Facebook or Instagram under "Rekener Kinderkleidermarkt".

15% of the proceeds from the sale are donated to charity in Reken.

Cycle tour around Reken, approx. 40 km

A guided tour of various chapels and wayside crosses around Reken, with a focus on the Old Church in Groß-Reken.

Lunch at Haus Uphave, followed by coffee and cake at the end of the tour at the St Elisabeth parish hall at Reken railway station.

Once again, the Berghotel team will be providing culinary delights with a barbecue and drinks stand with various snacks such as bratwurst and chips, as well as other dishes, coffee, cake and ice cream in the restaurant.
The event offers something for all ages, so the little ones can let off steam in the forest playground with a low ropes course right next to the car park.

The four-in-hand competition on 10 and 11 October at the Reken Riding and Driving Club promises to be a sporting highlight with plenty of variety and team spirit. In this multi-faceted discipline, participants not only put their skills to the test in the saddle, but also in the additional disciplines of running and swimming. Endurance, skill and good preparation are required in all four disciplines.

The four-in-hand competition combines a sporting challenge with a great sense of community and creates a rousing atmosphere for both participants and spectators. The event is a great opportunity for young athletes in particular to demonstrate their versatility and gain valuable competition experience.

In addition to exciting competitions, guests can expect a friendly atmosphere and a range of food and drink. The four-in-hand competition is therefore not only a sporting contest, but also a special experience for all equestrian sports enthusiasts.
