If you have children to look after, you can still do vocational training - on a part-time basis. TEP (part-time vocational training - support entry - open up prospects) supports participants with the organisation and helps them to prepare for the best possible start to their training.

Training with a disability
The "100 additional training places for young people and young adults with disabilities in NRW" campaign provides 150 places each year for young people with disabilities starting out on their careers. Did you know that training to become a carer is not only an apprenticeship with a future, but also one of the best-paid apprenticeships in Germany? You can find more information on this in our nursing brochure.

Dual education
In-company or dual training is probably the best-known type of training in Germany. It alternates between theory and practice. This means that you work in a training company and also attend vocational school.
The dual training system is particularly popular because you gain practical experience right from the start instead of just going to school - and you are paid accordingly.
