Studded aluminium

Laser technologies can be used to create microscopically small nubs of aluminium surfaces that generate a self-cleaning effect. The periodic surface structure developed by TU Dresden is additionally water and ice repellent. Studded aluminium can be used in the automotive and food industries as well as in aircraft construction.
