Alpine sounds without the altitude: Münsterland Festival part 11 starts on 8 October 2021 with Austria as guest country

From the peaks to the castles and palaces of the region: the music and culture of Austria are the focus of the Münsterland Festival part 11. From 8 October to 6 November 2021, the festival team of Münsterland e.V. invites you to numerous events at beautiful and exciting locations in Münsterland, this time with the Alpine Republic as the guest country. And it is already certain: festival fans can look forward not only to cultural delights from Austria and new experiences, but also to lasting impressions of the diverse Münsterland region of castles and palaces - with jazz, pop, classical and traditional sounds, complemented by exhibitions, dialogues and excursions.

"The Münsterland Festival impressively stands for the good life in Münsterland and always promises new discoveries. This time it is taking a special look at the far more than 100 palaces, castles, manor houses, monasteries, museums and aristocratic residences as venues that so characterise Münsterland and impressively demonstrate how beautiful and exciting the region is," emphasises Klaus Ehling, board member of Münsterland e.V. "But of course we don't leave it at that," adds Lars Krolik, festival director at Münsterland e.V. "Because the festival is also once again taking aim at exciting more modern buildings from the region."

In the 2019 edition, ten countries from Europe were guests in the region. This time, the festival team has deliberately decided to focus on one country, explains Krolik. "This way we can focus even more intensively on the culture and character of Austria and illuminate it from very different perspectives."

Looking at the programme, it remains exciting. "The past festivals have shown that it is above all the cultural diversity, sometimes peppered with musical experiments, that makes the festival," emphasises Artistic Director Christine Sörries. "Guests can look forward to that again this year - because Austria has so much to offer culturally and musically!" Once again, Sörries has been able to attract established stars and young talents.

The Münsterland Festival part 11 will start on 8 October 2021 with an opening concert at Kulturgut Haus Nottbeck, and will conclude on 6 November 2021 with a concert at Burg Vischering in Lüdinghausen - taking into account, of course, the Corona Protection Ordinance that will then be in force. The complete programme is expected to be published in August 2021. Those interested can already pre-order a programme book on the website www.muensterland-festival.de .
