Castles and fortresses from their most colourful side: Illustrator Till Lenecke signs Wimmelbuch in Münster

Whether it's Nordkirchen Castle, Hülshoff Castle or the Erbdrostenhof: in the "Schlösser- und Burgen-Wimmelbuch", published by Münsterland e.V. together with Coppenrath Verlag, important historical buildings in the region can be discovered in a completely new way. Illustrator Till Lenecke will be signing his work for all Wimmelbuch fans on 16 November (Saturday) from 11 am to 4 pm at the Walther König bookshop in the LWL Museum of Art and Culture on Domplatz in Münster. Requests for small drawings will also be fulfilled at the signing event.

The Wimmelbuch invites children and the young at heart on a journey of discovery: Three friends land in a balloon in Münsterland and get to know the world of castles and palaces from its most colourful side. Eight buildings are depicted on each double-page spread, with countless details telling stories from then and now.

The work on the pictures began on a tour of the castles and palaces, reveals Till Lenecke. "Fortunately, there was always someone on site who could tell me something about how they are used today and provide ideas. I recorded my impressions in the evening. They were very messy sketches, but the most important things were put down on paper before I went to bed." Those interested can find out more about the creation of the book in the interview with Till Lenecke at go.muensterland.com/tilllenecke.

The Wimmelbuch costs 14 euros and is available in local bookshops and in The Sdjool online shop(www.the-sdjool.de).
