Ein Kessel Buntes" festival celebrates culture in Münsterland on 21 May

The state funding programme "RKP - Regionales Kultur Programm NRW" has supported numerous cultural projects throughout Münsterland over the past 25 years - this anniversary will be celebrated in a big way on 21 May on the grounds of the Mühlenhof in Münster. Under the title "Ein Kessel Buntes" there will be a colourful fair of music, dance, film art, children's theatre and performances on various stages from 6 to 10 pm. Around 15 different projects are part of the evening programme and show what culture in Münsterland is all about. A special pre-programme: four cultural rallies by foot, bike, horse and bus will bring guests from the four Münsterland districts to the big festival in Münster. The organiser is the Münsterland Cultural Office of Münsterland e.V.

Visitors can look forward to music by UniJAZZity or Mazen Mohsen (known from "The Voice of Germany") & Band from the Heimat X project, for example. With the band "Folks Musik", the audience can expect the finest jazz inspired by folk song traditions on the unique Bonsai stage. In the Mühlenhaus there will be films with Anja Kreysing & Helmut Buntjer and the first Münsterland web series "Haus Kummerveldt". Stefan Demming will also be present with an exhibition in the fire station and an installation (Luurn bi de Buern). Festival guests will experience a surprising performance by the artist duo Scheibe & Güntzel, the dance duo Madona Shaqiri and Endrit Teco and the magician Michael Sondermeyer.

Visitors can get active themselves with the "Illustren Runde", a collective of illustrators who are out and about on the grounds of the Mühlenhof and offer to take up a pen. A so-called paste-up will be on display on one of the historical buildings and there will be a special programme for children from six to twelve: the MNEME kollektiv will inspire with dance and a workshop, the Krokodil Theater with its children's theatre and Soundseeing with a handicraft workshop.

"The cultural festival shows the diversity from 25 years of RKP funding in Münsterland. Artists from various disciplines present current and funded projects that make you want to enjoy culture again without a care in the world," says Stephanie Pausch from the Münsterland Cultural Office.

And if you get hungry while enjoying culture at the Mühlenhof, you can pick up a packed picnic box on site, for example.
