Funding for creative artists: Apply for the "Regional Culture Programme NRW" by 30 September

Online consultation hour with the Kulturbüro Münsterland on 7 August

With the "Regional Culture Programme NRW" (RKP), the state of North Rhine-Westphalia awards funding for cooperative cultural projects. Art and culture professionals from the Münsterland region can apply for this financial support until 30 September. Advice from the Kulturbüro des Münsterland e.V., which also provides support with questions about the project and project planning as well as filling out the online form, is mandatory.

"The Regional Culture Programme offers an excellent opportunity to obtain funding for your own project in Münsterland," says Andre Sebastian, Head of the Münsterland Cultural Office. "Many exciting ideas could only be realised thanks to RKP funding - so it's definitely worth applying."

In addition to a good idea, networking and cooperation are required for the application: a project needs at least three partners from at least two municipalities or cities. In addition to private individuals, creative clubs, associations, municipalities, institutions and independent organisations can also apply.
Interested parties can find out more about the funding criteria and how to apply at the RKP online consultation on 7 August, 4 to 5 pm (Wednesday). The event offers the opportunity to ask specific questions and is free of charge. However, registration is required at www.muensterland.com/rkp.

Among the 24 projects that received funding in 2024 is the children's festival "Karibuni", which tours the Münsterland region with world music for children. The workshop series "Erzähl mal..." at Villa ten Hompel and the woodwind festival "Summerwinds" have also received funding from the RKP - as has the "sozialpalast MUSIK CONVOY", an adaptation of the WDR Music Convoy from the 1980s.
"By supporting the sozialpalast MUSIK CONVOY, the RKP enables the linking of cultural promotion and youth development and brings young stage art into the public space," explains Erik Biembacher from the sozialpalast art group. "Artistically and structurally, this is an incredibly effective and important synthesis, both for our own work and, of course, for the common goal of promoting the region."

The RKP also makes a positive contribution to inclusion with the "supplementary funds for accessibility": up to 5,000 euros can be applied for per project. The funds support project-related measures that enable people with disabilities to participate in cultural life. Information and tips on how to use the supplementary funds are available in two free online workshops on 14 August (Wednesday) and 2 September (Monday).

Further information
Since 1997, the "Regional Culture Programme" has been funding projects that strengthen communication and cooperation between creators and those responsible in the cultural regions of NRW, bundle forces, network and strengthen the identity and attractiveness of the region. The state funding amounts to a maximum of 50 per cent of total expenditure. In Münsterland, the Cultural Council advises on the project ideas submitted. If it makes a recommendation, a formal application can be submitted to the Münster district government.
