Indulgence and sustainability at the finish line: Bioregional bag at the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro
The Münsterland eco-model region, based at Münsterland e.V., is once again packing bioregional bags for the participants of the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro this year. A total of 400 bags will be available in front of Münster Castle on Friday, 3 October.
Combining sporting performance with sustainable enjoyment: That is the idea behind the campaign, which the Münsterland eco-model region is organising for the third time. Immediately after successfully crossing the finish line, cyclists will receive a bag of bioregional products from the city of Münster and the district of Warendorf. These not only serve as a source of energy after the race, but also bring regional diversity to life. The organic farm Fockenbrock from Telgte, the natural food retailer Ökullus from Münster-Handorf and Natürlich Hof Schwienhorst from Warendorf-Hoetmar are also taking part.
Juliane Rabe, project manager of the Münsterland eco-model region, explains: "We are looking forward to the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro. The awareness of the athletes for healthy nutrition from the region is clearly noticeable. Other sports and leisure events are welcome to take inspiration from this and simply try offering a bioregional bag. We are happy to contribute our experience."
About the Münsterland eco-model region
The four districts of Münsterland and the city of Münster work together with the NRW Chamber of Agriculture and the Leader regions in the joint project "Öko-Modellregion Münsterland". Under the leadership of Münsterland e.V., the project aims to increase the proportion of bioregional products in the fields, on supermarket shelves, on canteen plates and in shopping baskets. The project is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Consumer Protection of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
