Mission White Flamingo: Culture podcast visits Senden Castle in episode two

The flamingo flies again! The new culture podcast "Mission White Flamingo" by Anna-Ida Almus from the Münsterland Cultural Office is going into its second round. This time it's all about Senden Castle in the district of Coesfeld - in keeping with the podcast concept, the focus is once again on a rural cultural location. Whether historian, artist or literary figure, the people behind the scenes have their say in this episode.

Anna-Ida Almus not only spoke with Dr. Lennart Pieper from Schloss Senden e.V., but also conducted interviews with Jan-Philip Scheibe and Charlotte Krafft.
Jan-Philip Scheibe, along with Swaantje Güntzel, is part of the duo "Scheibe & Güntzel", which is currently carrying out the art project "PRESERVED Altland/Neuland - Vegetable Shooting" in the castle garden. In the podcast, the artist explains why there are now over 200 glass bottles and carrots stuck in the ground and what role the garden at Senden Castle plays in this.

Charlotte Krafft was invited by the artist duo Scheibe & Güntzel as regional writer of the project "stadt.land.text NRW 2020" to give a reading in front of the castle garden. Because her texts about Münsterland also touch on Senden Castle. Listeners can find out why she chose Senden and how she came up with the text idea in the podcast.

With the second podcast episode, not only the location but also the circle has changed. "We want to visit very different places throughout the region with the podcast in order to depict the span of the cultural landscape," says Anna-Ida Almus from the Münsterland Cultural Office. So after the first episode reported on the DA, Kunsthaus Kloster Gravenhorst in the district of Steinfurt, the "white flamingo" now moves a little further south to the district of Coesfeld.

Incidentally, the project takes its name from the flamingos in the Zwillbrocker Venn. Because the cultural sites presented in the podcast are like the migratory birds in Vreden: special, but also somewhat hidden.

The podcast project is supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as part of the "Land.schafft - Förderungen für kulturelle Freiwilligen Projekte im ländlichen Raum" programme of the Federal Association for Cultural Education for Children and Young People.
