Reach of more than half a million people: Instawalk in and around Raesfeld Castle
A picture often says more than 1000 words. Especially when the motif is as beautiful as the palaces and castles in Münsterland. On Friday, 5 December, 14 influencers were able to see this for themselves in Raesfeld. At the invitation of Münsterland e.V., they came from the Münsterland and Ruhr regions to take pictures of the historical treasures and share them on social media. In total, all Instagram accounts reach more than 650,000 people.
"Instagram, with its very unique visual language, is an opportunity and a special form of marketing, and not just for local authorities," said Victoria Höwische, Social Media Manager at Münsterland e.V., adding: "It never ceases to amaze me that a group of people can visit the same motif and still experience and convey so many different perspectives. The castle in Raesfeld offers the perfect cosy setting for this with the Christmas market currently taking place."
After a welcome from Markus Büsken, representative of the mayor of Raesfeld, and Andreas Grotendorst, board member of Münsterland e.V., the group made their way down into the dungeon and up to the Sterndeuterturm tower. In addition to a tour of the castle and a visit to the Christmas market, the participants were able to capture the baroque castle chapel by candlelight on the chips of their cameras and smartphones. Afterwards, they visited the Academy of Crafts, and a meal at the Mahl & Meute restaurant rounded off the Instawalk with culinary delights.
And the participants appreciated this: "The organisation was perfect! I particularly liked the fact that we were able to experience special perspectives: the Sterndeuterturm or the painter's workshop. Nobody else was allowed to go there apart from us," enthused Beena Urban from the Instagram channel @bs_photoart_views.
Also taking part were @Larafotografiert_, @maikewittreck, @evolumina, @maximilian.lehrke, @sebastian.lehrke, @bs_photoart_views, @lisa_gehring_, @mitbarbaraunterwegs, @moritz_nolte, @muenstermagazin and @naturparkhohemark. The Instawalk was accompanied by the accounts of Münsterland e.V. (@muensterland.dasguteleben and @muensterland) and the municipality of Raesfeld (@raesfeld_tourismus).
