Regional, popular, established: "Give away a picnic" campaign launches in Münsterland

Münsterland e.V. is organising an original Christmas gift that is produced regionally and is therefore particularly sustainable with its "Give a picnic as a gift" campaign. For the sixth time, numerous tourist information centres, restaurants and shops from the Münsterland have filled wooden picnic boxes with regional and local products. Some of them have been labelled with the Münsterland seal or filled with bioregional products in cooperation with the Münsterland eco-model region. The Münsterland-wide campaign starts on 24 November.

Whether savoury snacks, sweet delicacies or decorative items - each box is individually filled and promises THE GOOD LIFE in a Christmassy guise. For example, the "Lengerich box of delights" is filled with coffee, spiced speculoos and roasted almonds - and also surprises with a bottle of apple dessert wine, produced locally in Tecklenburg Brochterbeck. Hof Brambrink in Dülmen is taking part for the first time and has put together two different picnic boxes. For example, the "Breakfast favourites from Hof Brambrink" box: In addition to eggs and oatmeal, it also contains various products from the farm's own Scottish Highland cattle. If you prefer, you can also put together the contents of the box yourself in the farm shop. What's more, the farm is one of the official picnic centres in Münsterland, so the anticipation of the next picnic season can be given as a gift.

"The 'Give away a picnic' campaign is now firmly established in Münsterland, not least because of the large network of local and regional players who are fully behind the idea," says Laura Woolfenden, head of the Picknick³ project at Münsterland e.V., emphasising: "This is how regional added value works - there is hardly a more meaningful way to give a gift."

Experience shows that around 1000 picnic boxes are sold during the campaign. They are genuinely handmade by Alexianer START GmbH in Münster. The crates can later be given as gifts, used for decoration or even planted. If you don't want to keep the box, you can benefit from a deposit system in some places and return it. The crates are sold directly on site at a total of 30 sales outlets, including tourist information centres and town marketing offices in local authorities, farm shops, bakeries and concept stores.

Münsterland e.V. collates the region's offers on www.muensterland.com/verschenkepicknick. The website is constantly being expanded to include more providers.
