The Münsterland presents itself at the Green Week in Berlin
Supporters, programme and exhibitors for next week's leading international trade fair have been confirmed
The suitcases are packed for the Münsterland's appearance at the Green Week in Berlin. From 16 to 25 January, the region will be presenting new, innovative, traditional and best products from the food industry and agriculture under the motto "THE GOOD LIFE". Münsterland e.V. is coordinating the presentation.
The Green Week in Berlin is the leading international trade fair for food, agriculture and horticulture. It will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026. The Münsterland is the official partner region in the NRW hall for the anniversary and will be presenting itself to a wide audience there.
"In Berlin, we are showcasing our great potential," says Andreas Grotendorst, CEO of Münsterland e.V. "Münsterland, with its regional centre Münster, is strong and innovative thanks to its good location in the heart of Europe. We have many energetic brand ambassadors from the food and agricultural sectors in our luggage. They will bring the Münsterland closer to trade fair visitors with high-quality products." The topics at the Münsterland stand: regional products, innovations, the horse region, LEADER funding projects and the "Our village has a future" competition.
The sponsors of the trade fair appearance are the savings banks in Münsterland, Westenergie AG, Provinzial Versicherung AG and AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG. The institutions are unanimous: "The Green Week in Berlin brings radiance to the Münsterland region and offers a stage beyond the region's borders. The Münsterland is a strong location for the food and agricultural industries, which make up an important part of our economic strength." Norbert Hypki, CEO of Sparkasse Westmünsterland, and Jochen Drees, Deputy Head of Corporate Customers at Sparkasse Münsterland Ost, added on behalf of all savings banks in Münsterland: "Savings banks stand for home and proximity. But when the Münsterland takes a trip to Berlin, we are still happy to be there with our sponsorship and send out a strong signal: Together, we bring the treasures of our home region to the international table and show that savings banks, business, sustainability and future orientation go hand in hand."
Around 25 co-exhibitors and participants in the stage programme will be travelling to Berlin together with Münsterland e.V. and the LEADER regions in Münsterland, providing a diverse range of products: the Sasse fine distillery from Schöppingen and the Telgter Ährenbrüder will be there with their products, as will the cibaria organic wholemeal bakery from Münster. "We are delighted to be taking part and bringing Münsterland grain and bread to Berlin," says Rike Kappler from cibaria. "The trade fair is simply a great opportunity to present ourselves, our products and the Münsterland region, because we are proud of both."

The supporting programme is also colourful: Kiepenkerle and Tödden from the Münsterland will be out and about in the NRW Hall, telling stories and curiosities and delighting guests with beef ham, roast beef, pastries, bread, spirits, beer, buffalo mozzarella and popcorn, among other things. On the NRW stage, the countrywomen let the audience decide which tastes better: Men's cream or women's cream? They also dance, sing and tell stories in local dialect.
The topic of innovation is an exciting one. Torben Othmerding (Othmerding Maschinenbau), Rodja Trappe (Zauberzeug GmbH) and Sven Grave (Digital Hub Münster|land) will be in Berlin to discuss the topic of "Rethinking agriculture - the Münsterland innovation region in dialogue". The horse as an economic factor will also be given a stage. With more than 100,000 horses, Münsterland is one of the most horse-rich regions in Europe. Idyllic half-timbered farms alternate with ultra-modern equestrian sports facilities. The Münsterland e.V. will be showcasing this together with the Warendorf State Stud, which will be two hundred years old in 2026. In addition, the LEADER regions and winners of the village competition "Our village has a future" as well as the Münsterland eco-model region and the Münsterland seal will also be presenting themselves.
On the evening before the fair, 15 January, many guests from the region will also be present at the NRW Evening in Berlin: District President Andreas Bothe, LWL Director Dr Georg Lunemann, the District Councillors of Borken, Coesfeld and Steinfurt and Tilman Fuchs, Lord Mayor of Münster.
