Active holiday Hiking boots meet juniper heath

After checking into the Hotel Telgter Hof, you start your hike into the Klatenberge at the market square. Via Kapellenstraße, past the church and chapel to the River Ems, the route takes you leisurely through the old town centre. At the Christoph-Bernsmeyer-Haus, take the X15 hiking trail upstream to Haus Langen and the striking double mill next to the former manor house.

The route then continues along the X15/X4 hiking trail to Westbevern. You can take a break along the Bever river or in a cosy beer garden. Refreshed, the route continues towards Telgte as far as the Westbevern exit sign. From here, follow the 160-year-old Way of the Cross to the Klatenberge nature reserve.

The route continues along well-maintained sandy paths to the juniper heath - the remnants of a heathland that was once widespread in Münsterland. It's time for a picnic break! The highest dune top in the area offers a beautiful panoramic view of the landscape. After the hike, you can round off the day on the market square with delicious food and cool drinks.

After a delicious breakfast at Telgter Hof, you will set off on a short tour of the town on the Telgte culture trail. The tour guides will introduce you to the most interesting corners of Telgte. Afterwards, you will certainly have time for a stroll through the pretty shops along Kapellenstraße and the market square before heading back home.
