You start the day in the historic rooms of Oeding Castle with a hearty breakfast. A magnificent perennial garden will delight you with more than 2,000 plants and a trip to Holland will take you to the market (Wednesday and Saturday), as well as tasty samples and a look behind the scenes at a rustic goat's cheese farm. You decide how the day ends: Either with a hearty soup at the Burghotel Pass or with a cake buffet at the cosy Gasthaus Nagel.
Your personal tour guide will give you a warm welcome in the historic rooms of Oeding Castle. Your gourmet journey begins with a sumptuous castle breakfast. Crispy rolls and fresh bread, cheese and cold cuts, jams as well as country eggs, scrambled eggs and coffee from the "big pot" provide a culinary start to your day of adventure. At the end, each participant receives the original castle drink.
Visit and guided tour of a 3,000 square metre perennial garden. More than 2,000 different plants in lovingly laid out cottage gardens, rock gardens and herb gardens. Ponds, water features, fragrant roses and magnificent perennial beds, beautiful squares, seasonally changing decorative still lifes, lush bouquets and pretty accessories invite you to marvel and enjoy.
Take a stroll through Winterswijk and experience the flair of this charming little border town. On Wednesdays (until 2 pm) and Saturdays (until around 4 pm), the famous sea fish and produce market takes place. A good opportunity to fortify yourself with typical Dutch delicacies.
Experience a rustic goat cheese farm with a dedicated cheese farmer who will explain his farm from the daily milking to the rearing and production of his culinary delicacies. Of course, tastings and a homemade liqueur will be available for you in the rustic barn.
Hearty dishes from the soup pot are the culinary conclusion to an eventful day. Whether with or without meat, there is something for every taste. Baguettes and dips round off the cosy finale.
