Out and about with the night watchmen in Laer
When evening falls and the streets become quieter, a special journey through time begins in Laer: the night watchman tours. Equipped with a lantern, halberd and historical clothing, the night watchmen guide you through the alleyways and tell you about times gone by.
It's not just about dry historical facts, but rather the stories of the Ewaldi village come to life through anecdotes, legends and personal tales. Whether it's about old craft businesses, special personalities or historical buildings: every stop has something surprising in store.
There are now two different tours. The first leads to the historical foundation stones of Laer, the second along the Ewaldi stream, past the old Möllers factory and the famous Heidenbaum tree. This allows you to discover Laer from different angles.
The tours take around 2 hours and offer a special view of Laer that is often overlooked during the day. In addition to exciting information about the history, there are also humorous insights into village life in the past, sometimes thought-provoking, sometimes amusing.
The night watchman tours are organised by the Laer bewegt e.V. association, which keeps a piece of local history alive. Bookings can be made at info@laer-bewegt.de.
