Picnic area Villa Hecking

Villa Hecking was built in 1835 by Ferdinand Rohling in the parish of Neuenkirchen. The villa has made a significant contribution to the history of Neuenkirchen. The weaver’s shuttle featured in the parish coat of arms alone shows that Neuenkirchen was shaped for centuries by the textile industry that flourished there. In 1850, the Hecking company began operations there and was, at the time, the municipality’s largest employer.
Today, the former linen merchant’s house serves as the community centre for Neuenkirchen and houses a library and a fireside room for weddings. 

The villa and the surrounding park can be viewed from the outside every day. The park, with its beautiful flowers and artby Otmar Alt, offers you the perfect spot for a picnic with a touch of history.
