The Höxberg Panorama Circular Walk combines stunning views, varied natural scenery and fascinating insights into the history and landscape around Beckum. Along the main route, nine themed stops mark the walk. At each station, informative display boards provide interesting facts about the region and invite you to discover the surroundings with fresh eyes.
The starting point of the circular walk is the striking Soestwarte, one of the Höxberg’s landmarks. The historic viewing tower can be climbed during the day and rewards the climb with an impressive panoramic view over the Beckum hills, the extensive Münsterland parkland and even as far as the Soest Börde. Even at this point, it becomes clear why the trail truly lives up to its name as a Panorama Circular Walk.
The varied route leads through shady sections of woodland, along nature trails and through open countryside, with ever-changing views. Along the way, numerous rest stops invite you to enjoy nature at your leisure.
A special highlight awaits walkers at Stop 5: from here, a permanently installed telescope allows you to spot the centre of Westphalia. Right next to it, a shelter with a magnificent view offers the ideal spot for a relaxing picnic break – a place where the enjoyment of nature and sweeping views come together perfectly.
Another highlight can be found at Stop 9, with its historic windmill. It serves as a striking reminder of the region’s long history and is one of the most distinctive landmarks along the circular trail.
Whether for keen walkers, nature-loving day-trippers or families – the Höxberg Panorama Circular Walk offers a varied experience in every season. The combination of sweeping panoramic views, fascinating themed stations and regional attractions makes it one of the most beautiful hiking destinations in the southern Münsterland.
