Beckum offers a rich cultural programme

Visitors to Beckum can explore attractions such as the historic town hall, dating from 1441, or St Stephen’s Provost Church, home to Westphalia’s most valuable reliquary. It is also well worth taking a look at the museum smithy at the Kolpinghaus, visiting the Kreisständehaus in the ‘Westenfeuermarkt’ park, or exploring the Cement Museum.

Cycling from Beckum along the Werse Cycle Route

The area around Beckum is characterised by the Münsterland’s park-like landscape, but also by the cement industry, which is closely linked to the town’s development. The former quarries have been transformed into attractive local recreation areas that are ideal for exploring by bike. Or you can follow the exciting route of the Werse Cycle Path. The route to Oelde even gets a bit hillier. As a reward, you’ll be treated to wonderful views over the Münsterland. What’s more, along the way you’ll pass the breathtaking Blue Lagoonnature reserve.

Not to be forgotten is the Phoenix Activity Park, with its adventure playground, disc golf course, climbing wall and more. The Höxberg, with its beautiful windmill, promises fantastic views and plenty of nature. The Tuttenbrock recreational lakeoffers excellent swimming and sporting facilities.
