Conversational AI

A text-based dialogue system that allows chatting with a technical system. It has a text input area and a text output area that can be used to communicate with the system in natural language. Conversational AI can, but does not have to be used in conjunction with an avatar.

Technically, Conversational AI is closer to a full-text search engine than to artificial or even natural intelligence. However, with increasing computer power, conversational AI systems can access ever more extensive data sets more quickly and therefore also offer intelligent dialogues for the user. Such systems are also called virtual personal assistants.
