Medical Apps
Mobile medical apps, also called medical apps, are applications for mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets that support medical staff or patients in the diagnosis, therapy or monitoring of diseases or injuries. Health apps can be used in a variety of ways and accompany people in their physical fitness through to prevention as well as diagnostics and therapy.
Research is also increasingly relying on mHealth by obtaining scientific data, e.g. through voluntary user input within an app. The Digital Health Care Act regulates the entitlement to benefits for care using digital health apps since 2019. Digital health apps (DiGA) listed in this directory can be prescribed by doctors and psychotherapists to support the detection and treatment of diseases or, for example, the individual implementation of treatment processes.
