Heiden is located in the Borken district, just 15 minutes from the district town. You can drive to Münster and Dortmund by car in around an hour, as well as to the Münster/Osnabrück (FMO) and Weeze airports. Heiden is also the perfect starting point for trips to the Netherlands: Arnheim is just over an hour away by car and Enschede is around 50 minutes away.
You can easily commute to work from Heiden in all directions: the municipality is well connected to the northern Münsterland and the Ruhr region to the south via the nearby A31 motorway, while the A43 motorway can be reached to the east via the B67 and Bocholt to the west.
Tip: The Münsterland is a cycling region! 4500 kilometres of cycle paths offer you almost unlimited possibilities in the city and in the countryside: you can easily commute to work by bike and go on great tours with friends and family.
Heiden consists of the town centre and the three hamlets of Nordick, Leblich and Lammersfeld, each of which is around five minutes by car from the town centre and lies between the fields and meadows of the Münsterland. In Heiden itself, you can do almost everything by bike. The heart of the municipality with its various shopping facilities, restaurants, town hall and library is surrounded by residential areas. There is also an industrial area to the south-east of the town centre.

In the town centre, you will find cafés and restaurants as well as clothing, shoes and decorative articles. If you want to shop extensively, you have a choice: the Designer Outlet Ochtrup is only 40 minutes away, and in about one and a half hours you can reach the Dutch shopping cities of Venlo and Roermond.
