- Local public transport (ÖPNV): The Münsterland has a well-developed bus network. Offers such as the Deutschlandticket also enable nationwide journeys on local transport at a fixed price. Research bus stops, departure times and the possibility of a public bus for your journey to work.
- Rail transport: Deutsche Bahn offers a dense network for longer journeys. There are discounts such as the BahnCard or saver fares.
- Car sharing, bike sharing and e-scooters: Flexible mobility options are available in many cities. You can also enquire about carpooling opportunities through your company or check online carpooling centres.
- Bicycle: Münsterland is cycling country! The German Cyclists' Association (ADFC ) in Münster and throughout Münsterland offers information about cycling as well as numerous guided cycle tours.
- Aeroplane: The nearest airport is FMO. A larger airport for your flight connection to your home country and also the most important airport in NRW is Düsseldorf Airport.

Driving licence and driving permit
Driving licence from an EU member state
A driving licence from an EU member state is generally recognised in Germany, meaning that EU citizens can drive a car without any further formalities. In many cases, it is not necessary to rewrite the driving licence as long as it remains valid. However, EU citizens should have their driving licence converted to a German driving licence after six months if they are staying in Germany for a longer period of time, especially if they are staying in the country permanently.
Driving licence from a country outside the EU
Other regulations apply to third-country nationals. As a rule, they must have their driving licence converted and take a theoretical and practical driving test, unless there are bilateral agreements between Germany and the country of origin that make it easier to convert the licence. Third-country nationals should find out about the exact regulations in advance, as there may be different requirements depending on the country of origin. The road traffic office in your place of residence is responsible for this.
