The project initiative "Circular Economy Region Münsterland" aims to promote the circular economy in the region and make it visible. The joint project brings together stakeholders, pools existing strengths and establishes and expands a comprehensive network of expertise. Companies wishing to implement the circular economy are to be supported and empowered by the competence network. Those responsible in companies are also focussed on. They are to be given the skills they need to make the transition to a circular economy. In addition, the initiative makes companies that are converting their business models and products to a circular economy visible to citizens. The aim is to close regional loops and raise awareness of the topic.

Do you have any questions? Then get in touch with your circular economy pilot!

We have set up circular economy guides at the project partners for you. They will help you with questions relating to the circular economy, provide assistance with further information and connect you with the right contact persons, experts and networks. They will also lead the focus groups that will start in 2025 and organise cooperation workshops to close regional material cycles. The development of concepts for the regionalisation of cycles is also one of their tasks.

The pilots offer guidance in the implementation of circular innovation processes and business models as well as in closing material cycles and identifying regional cooperation potential.

Workshop

Gather information, exchange ideas, find new partners within the network, and develop ideas and approaches for resource-efficient and sustainable business practices: this is what the 12th Efficiency Forum for Business has to offer. This year’s main theme is ‘Transformation – Sustainable. Efficient. Intelligent’.

The one-day event is aimed at manufacturing companies, opinion leaders and service providers working in the fields of resource conservation and sustainability.

A total of twelve sessions are divided into three thematic areas:

  • Resource management
  • Transformation
  • Opportunities

The sessions will begin with a brief introduction to the State of North Rhine-Westphalia’s circular economy strategy, which is due to be officially launched a week later, as well as a ‘speed dating’ session to allow participants to get to know one another briefly. The accompanying exhibition featuring solution providers will once again form an integral part of the forum.

The Efficiency Forum for Business is free of charge for visitors. The aim is to provide the regional business community with a platform to learn about potential opportunities, solutions and approaches, and to discuss these and exchange experiences.

Under the theme “Sustainability reporting – a curse or a blessing?”, the Münster Chamber of Skilled Trades is hosting the “Sustainability Day for the Skilled Trades” on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Sustainability continues to grow in importance within the skilled trades sector. At the same time, sustainability reporting is increasingly coming into focus for many businesses – whether due to requirements from clients, banks, supply chains or public tenders.

At the 2026 Sustainability Day for the Skilled Trades, participants will work together to explore what sustainability reporting can mean for skilled trades businesses, which requirements are becoming relevant, and how businesses can tackle the issue in a practical way.

Attendees can look forward to expert insights, a practical case study on a company’s journey towards producing its own sustainability report, and an interactive exchange at various themed discussion tables. There, they will have the opportunity to ask specific questions, find out about support services and take away ideas to apply to their own businesses.

Planned topics include:

  • Scopes
  • Social sustainability
  • Economic sustainability
  • Environmental sustainability
  • CO₂ accounting

The event provides a forum for guidance, discussion and networking – practical, accessible and with a focus on the challenges and opportunities facing the skilled trades sector.
