Potential analysis for the Münsterland circular economy region

The potential analysis analysed the identification of exemplary material flows with regional relevance for the circular economy in Münsterland. The potential analysis is divided into a material flow and stakeholder analysis. Particular attention was paid to the importance of the framework strategies of the EU, federal and state governments, such as the Green Deal and the National Circular Economy Strategy.

The quantities actually generated in the region were calculated for each material flow and the regionality of the individual material cycles was assessed. As part of the stakeholder analysis, data from the North Westphalia Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and the Münster Chamber of Crafts (HWK) was then used to identify the material flows relevant to the companies. Based on forecasts and research findings, the strategic importance of the individual material flows was assessed and their relevance for the future of the Münsterland and the companies in the region was derived.
