Ein Kessel Buntes" Cultural Festival on 21 May: Rally from the Coesfeld District to Münster

With the Literary Leezentour to the evening programme at the Mühlenhof Open Air Museum

MÜNSTERLAND/KREIS COESFELD: Over the past 25 years, numerous cultural projects throughout the Münsterland region have been supported by the state funding programme "RKP - Regionales Kultur Programm NRW" - and this anniversary will be celebrated in a big way on 21 May on the grounds of the Mühlenhof in Münster. The organisers have come up with something special for the journey to the festival location: In the Coesfeld district, Münsterland e.V., together with the cultural representatives from the Coesfeld district, invites you to a cultural bike tour from Billerbeck to Münster.

The cultural programme starts at 10.30 am at the Kolvenburg in Billerbeck. First, visitors will have the exclusive opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the castle's historic roof truss. Afterwards, the two former heads of culture of the Münster district government - Hans-Peter Boer and Georg Veit - will read from their literary works. Around 12.30 p.m. the tour continues by bike to the Baumberg Sandstone Museum. Once there, the participants will receive a colourful picnic bag with small culinary delicacies from the region. Afterwards, the author and poetry slammer Andreas Weber will read from his Münsterland stories. The second stage takes the tour group to Hülshoff Castle in Havixbeck. There, Dominik Renneke will offer an insight into the Center for Literature. At 6 pm, the group arrives at the Mühlenhof in Münster.

Under the title "Ein Kessel Buntes" there will be a colourful fair of music, dance, film art, children's theatre and performances on various stages from 6 to 10 pm. Around 15 different projects are part of the evening programme and show what culture in Münsterland is all about. "The cultural festival shows the diversity from 25 years of RKP funding in Münsterland. Artists from various disciplines present current and funded projects that make you want to experience culture again in a carefree way," says Stephanie Pausch from the Münsterland Cultural Office.

After the evening programme, a free bus shuttle will take guests from the Coesfeld district back to Billerbeck at 10 pm.
The "Literary Leezentour" is about 30 kilometres long. It is also possible to join the tour at the Baumberg Sandstone Museum or at Hülshoff Castle.
Participation in the guided tour of the Kolvenburg in Billerbeck and in the subsequent reading is also possible free of charge without taking part in the cycle tour. However, registration by email to kolvenburg@kreis-coesfeld.de or by telephone 02591-79900 is required.

Tickets for the rally and "Ein Kessel Buntes" as well as further information on the programme are available at www.muensterland.com/ein-kessel-buntes.
