Focus on five topics: starting signal for network meeting in the "Münsterland circular economy region"
In the ERDF-funded project "Kreislaufwirtschaftsregion Münsterland", Münsterland e.V. is working together with its partners - Münster University of Applied Sciences, Münster Chamber of Crafts and Trades and North Westphalia Chamber of Industry and Commerce - to promote the circular economy in Münsterland and make it more visible. The team will be presenting what lies behind the project, an analysis that has now been completed and the five new focus groups at the Circular Economy Days Münster on 11 and 12 February in the Münsterland Hall.
Plastics, mechanical engineering, batteries, mineral building materials and biogenic residues: these topics emerged from a study conducted at Münster University of Applied Sciences. "As part of a regional potential analysis, we looked at strategic material flows and stakeholders in industry, trade and research," says Moritz Petzold from the Department of Civil Engineering. "This enabled us to find out which material flows are most relevant for the circular economy in Münsterland."
Five focus groups are now dedicated to these, inviting interested companies, stakeholders and experts to network meetings from March. The "Plastics" group, for example, will focus on the "Circular economy in the plastics industry of the future" (6 March), while the "Mineral building materials" (13 March) and "Mechanical engineering" (18 March) focus groups will also start. An overview of further dates can be found at go.muensterland.com/kwrnetzwerktreffen. Registration is now open.
"In order to support companies in implementing the transformation in the circular economy, innovation and cooperation as well as new business models and regional circular value chains are needed," says Sebastian Schürmann, Project Manager at Münsterland e.V. "There is exciting input and networking as a basis for jointly addressing the needs and challenges of companies."
About the project
The ERDF-funded project "Circular Economy Region Münsterland" aims to promote the circular economy in the region and make it visible. The joint project brings together stakeholders, pools existing strengths and establishes and expands a comprehensive network of expertise. Companies that want to implement the circular economy are to be supported by the competence network and enabled to switch to circular business models. The aim is to close regional loops and raise awareness of the topic.
In addition, circular economy guides have been set up at all project partners. They help with questions about the transformation, provide assistance with further information and bring interested parties together with the right contact persons, experts and networks. The guides can be found at go.muensterland.com/kreislaufwirtschaft.
The project is being funded as part of the ERDF call for proposals "Regio.NRW". The project is led by Münsterland e.V., which works together with the following project partners: FH Münster, HWK Münster and IHK Nord Westfalen.
