Cycling trip Wire bike meets fat hen

You start your tour along the picturesque Bocholter Aa cycle path to a garden exhibition that will make the hearts of pond lovers beat faster. The route then takes you to the Heidefeld estate, where a magnificent park in the style of 19th century English gardens is waiting to be explored. Here you can also admire the pretty "fat hens" and take a break in the cosy café. Then cycle on to Anholt moated castle with its baroque gardens and impressive park. At the end of the day, you can enjoy a delicious dinner in one of Bocholt's restaurants.

The next day, this cycle tour takes you along the 100 Castles Route through the Münsterland parkland to the romantic moated castle of Gemen before visiting the perennial paradise of Picker Gardens. On an area of 3000 square metres, you can admire over 2300 different varieties of perennials, plants and herbs in lovingly laid out beds. On the way back, you will pass a monastery, nature reserves, the old manor house "Haus Kretier" and the Bocholt city forest. After this active and sporty day, it's time for another delicious meal in Bocholt!

Today you will explore Bocholt's lively city centre. Numerous cafés, a colourful weekly market, which takes place four times a week in front of the historic town hall and on Gasthausplatz, as well as picturesque shopping streets with many owner-managed shops offer you a unique shopping experience. You should also definitely take the idyllic footpath along the Bocholter Aa to the impressive LWL-Museum Textilwerk. Rattling machines in the weaving mill and exciting, changing exhibitions in the spinning mill tell the story of Bocholt's textile history.
