Bad Waldliesborn
In the spa town of Bad Waldliesborn, slowing down, relaxation and health are top priorities. Enjoy tasty treats in a cosy café or restaurant, treat yourself to a soothing massage or cycle past farms, woods, meadows and rivers.
Explore nature on foot or by bike
You can also relax in the extensive 20-hectare spa park with its tall, old trees. Here, the fog trail offers pleasant refreshment in summer and helps you breathe deeply between April and October - ideal for anyone who is allergic to pollen. Depending on the weather and light conditions, the wafts of mist also make for great photo opportunities.
If you want to enjoy even more nature, follow the signposted hiking or cycling trails. Discover the flat landscape of the Münsterland basin, the Lippe floodplains with free-range horses and cattle, small castles or historic villages and towns.
Concentrated health expertise
The brine spring, which is still very strong and carbonated today, was discovered by chance in 1900. The drilling company was actually looking for hard coal. Businessman Wilhelm Eichholz seized the opportunity and laid the foundation stone for the spa town of Bad Waldliesborn by building a spa centre. Even though the "Walibo Therme" thermal spa closed in 2023, visitors can still benefit from the great health expertise on site, e.g. in the rehabilitation clinics and outpatient health and sports facilities.
Looking for even more variety? Throughout the year, concerts, theatre performances, guided tours and sports courses alternate with larger festivals and, as a district of Lippstadt, Bad Waldliesborn is only five kilometres away from the historic city centre.
