Cycle tour "Meadow, forest and moated castle"
Your 60 km cycle tour starts at the LWL-Museum Textilwerk, which is located on the edge of Bocholt 's city centre. After just a few metres, you will reach the wonderful Aasee lake, which forms a great contrast to the industrial culture. Over the next few kilometres, the Bocholter Aa accompanies you on your way through the beautiful landscape of western Münsterland. The picturesque village of Marienthal with its monastery church and inviting cafés is a perfect destination for a short detour. From here, it's just a few kilometres until you reach Raesfeld.
Your route first takes you through the beautiful historic zoo. There you can enjoy the heathland, streams, lakes and forests that form a marvellous landscape. After just a few more turns of the pedals, an impressive sight opens up before you: The 52 metre high castle tower of Raesfeld Castle rises abruptly into the air. The moated castle is surrounded by picturesque moats and offers a marvellous view. The surrounding cafés and restaurants are perfect for an extended break in a special ambience.
Your route first takes you to the charming town centre and then further north to the popular Pröstingsee lake. There you can take a short, relaxing tour of the lake with its green shores in pedal boats. The Münsterland parkland surrounds you once again before you return to Bocholt through the city forest.
