The artists’ collective “De Rode Schuur” from Noorwijk in the Netherlands is coming to Rhede to exhibit a selection of their works here at the Villa Medica Museum.

Every other Sunday, the traditional and famous STADTBRAUEREI HAGEDORN morning pint takes place.

Just as in the days of the esteemed Hagedorn family brewery directors in Rhede, the brewery extends a warm invitation.

The tradition is being continued through the revival of the HAGEDORN Town Brewery.
Admission is free.

At the weekly market, vibrant colours and wonderful scents come together. The stalls offer fruit and vegetables straight from the field, herbs, honey, bread and cheese from local producers. You can feel the producers’ passion in every product – sun-ripened tomatoes, crisp apples and artisan-baked bread. As well as being a culinary delight, the market strengthens the local community: you can chat with the stallholders, swap recipes and discover new favourites. It’s well worth a visit all year round, especially when the produce is at its best.

What links Chopin, Beethoven, Gershwin and Rachmaninoff to contemporary compositions? On this evening: a piano and Christian Fritz.

Look forward to a special concert evening on 28 October in Rhede with the pianist and composer Christian Fritz.

The varied programme takes the audience on a journey through different eras of music history, combining famous works with lesser-known discoveries, original compositions and free improvisations. Sometimes familiar, sometimes surprising – and always with a musical style all of his own.

Under the theme ‘Classical music out of the box: Evergreens from then to now’, this concert evening offers a chance to rediscover great music.

To mark this Dialect Day, a writing competition on the theme of ‘neighbourhood’ was organised in Low German.

Out of the 75 entries, 18 have been selected.

The authors of these 18 entries will have the opportunity to read their texts or poems aloud at St John’s Church.

The three best entries will then be awarded prizes.

In addition, all visitors can vote for an audience award.
