Concerts, markets and sporting events: the associations and the municipality of Saerbeck always manage to organise exciting events. These include, for example, the annual funfair run as well as the Advent market, which gets people in the mood for Christmas. Let yourself be surprised by our calendar of events.

In June, EGST officially celebrated the commissioning of the new facilities at the Bioenergy Park. Sewage sludge drying, a biomass combined heat and power plant and a gas treatment plant now complement the composting plant and its components.
Participants at the next Saerbeck Energy Discussion on Thursday, 10 September, will now be able to see first-hand how the facilities work together and how the material flows are integrated.
The meeting point is at 5.00 pm at the entrance to the EGST site in the Bioenergy Park (vehicle weighbridge).
There is a cycle park available in front of the weighbridge building.
Those travelling by car are asked to park on the gravel area in front of the wind turbine and walk the remaining few metres.

Open Monument Day takes place every year on the second Sunday in September.
The event is coordinated nationwide by the German Foundation for Monument Protection (DSD).
The guiding principle behind Open Monument Day is to open historic buildings and sites to the public once a year that are otherwise not accessible, or only partially so.
Admission is usually free.
The Saerbeck Local History Society is taking part in Open Monument Day. On 13 September 2026, the museum will be open to the public from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm. Guidance for visitors will be provided.

"Come along to the Klön-Café," say the Senior Guides. A table has been reserved at Café Vierjahreszeiten, and one of the Senior Guides will be there to chat, have a coffee or enjoy breakfast with you.
Anyone can join in and is very welcome.

The Klön-Café takes place every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 9.30 am, unless that Monday is a public holiday or during the school holidays.

The market is intended to be a meeting place for the village community that promotes exchange and socialising. The market should showcase local producers and bring the village community together for an evening of food and drink.
An all-weather swim takes place at the bathing lake every Sunday at 11am. Please note that the exact dates and times may vary due to weather conditions. For the most up-to-date information, residents can use the Water & Leisure (W+F) app, where times are constantly updated.

Another group offers exercise, fresh air and the chance to meet new people.
Everyone using a rollator, electric wheelchair or mobility scooter comes together for a leisurely group walk. The senior guides who accompany the group take care to cater for individual needs, such as breaks and shorter routes.
The meeting point is the entrance to MGH Saerbeck

The themed evening featuring eyewitnesses – from the clustered village to the climate-friendly municipality – will take place on 21 September 2026 at 5.00 pm in the community hall at the community centre in Saerbeck.
Fifty years of land consolidation represent fifty years of collective action and shaping the future.
Through foresight and solidarity, the local community, the agricultural sector, politicians and the local authority have made possible the transformation from a traditional Münsterland clustered village to the innovative climate-friendly municipality of Saerbeck.
There will be several talks exploring the topic from different perspectives.

Leisurely group walks for anyone who enjoys the fresh air and a bit of exercise. This is also suitable for people who are no longer able to go on long hikes.

The Saerbeck parish’s annual senior citizens’ outing will take place this year on 22 September 2026. All interested senior citizens are invited to attend.
All participants are to meet at 1.45 pm on 22 September 2026 at the coach station (Volksbank).
From there, as every year, there will be an interesting tour of Saerbeck.
The exact destinations will not be revealed. The afternoon will conclude with a get-together over coffee and cake.
The return to the coach station is scheduled for around 5.30 pm.
Two air-conditioned buses will be available for the trip. The number of participants is limited to 100. Walking frames can be stowed away.
The contribution towards the cost of the afternoon is €8.00. Recipients of basic income support and housing benefit pay half.
