The western Münsterland is full of surprises and small natural wonders. On this 32-kilometre cycle tour, you can discover idyllic landscapes and genuine tradition. Before you start at Velen Castle, you should definitely take a short walk through the historic zoo. The quiet forest paths are the perfect start to your cycle tour.

The cycle route takes you northwards along the network of junctions without any major inclines. Enjoy the beautiful cultural landscape! You then reach the small town of Gescher. The Westphalian Bell Museum offers you an interesting insight into this ancient craft. You should also plan some time for the other museums on the "Auf dem Braem" museum farm. From the farm garden to the beekeeping museum, you can immerse yourself in the Münsterland way of life and history.

The cycle tour now turns eastwards and takes you to the moor and wetland landscapes between Gescher and Velen. In the Kuhlenvenn and Fürstenkuhle nature reserves, rare plants and animals still find a valuable refuge today. You can find out how important the moor was for the landscape and life in the Münsterland region at the Peat Museum. From here, it is only a few minutes' drive to your starting point in Velen.
